I can share some insights about the receipt tracking feature, Jshoplist. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to reach out! If you are still encountering some problems, follow these steps. From there, you w ill be able to add and upload the receipts. I'm $175 an hour if Intuit wants someone who can design products that work and actually improve a work flow or process.Welcome back to the community! To locate the Receipt tab, go to the Banking tab and select the Receipts tab, as highlighted in the screenshot below. The majority of the receipts are electronic (not a scan of paper) and the system cant reliable parse electronics receipts from Home Depot. Additionally I uploaded over 600 receipts and only about 10% was automatically matched using the receipt manager. I can do 100 receipts from email or a cloud drive in the time it takes to do about 25. The receipt manager app was clearly not designed with a bookkeeper or accountant involved as the competing process of scanning a receipt to email or using "Office Lens" or similar app to capture receipts to your phone and cloud storage is about four times as fast as using the receipt manager. We don't spend hundreds if not thousands on licensing and support to turn around and explain what a good user experience should be. I'm not about to hold a billion dollar software companies hand and do the application development for them its obvious zero thought and little testing went into this app like everything else. Intuit does not appear concerned with making quality products only delivering alpha based applications which makes the customers the beta testers. Thanks for the input put my posts arent for features they are to warn other users. Local installs should be local and should not lose functionality based on internet service by continually adding cloud based operations intuit is every increasing the risk that a business' finances are going to be compromised. Intuit obviously doesn't understand how unsafe and unsecure it is to keep exposing information to the internet. The whole process would have been easier to setup if the if the app simply used email to send an to an email account you setup yourself or you were already using File browsing would be the exact same function as it stands. The only reason I see that QuickBooks has used this cloud interface is so this is another function in the software that we purchase that will magically stop working in 3 years when they no longer support it. This entire process appears to lack any planning or thought. Thankfully I am doing this on my laptop so I can rotate the laptop to read the receipts in the correct orientation. The only images you can rotate are images submitted through the phone app. Intuit always seems to be a decade behind in features and then the features are in large part don't appear to be well thought out and tested.Īlso. Additionally a bulk approve would be much more efficient with a side by side comparison of the receipt matched to the transaction so the bulk approval can quickly be visually audited to ensure the process completed correctly. The receipt manager should be a local process with background sync it should also have the vendor transactions automatically displayed for quick viewing based on the vendor parsed from the receipt for verification, and matching. This demonstrates the lack of thought and testing that was applied to this tool I would have not upgraded based on this first hand knowledge as the QB marketing infers that receipt matching will be almost automatic and instead this process slows down the process of manually adding the receipt to the transaction. Additionally the receipt scanner cannot process return receipts so if an item is returned which is normal from job to job your mapping the receipt manually. Example a transaction for fuel is entered in the system but set to "Automobile Expense" but now the user trying to enter the receipt try to match it as "Automobile Expense-Fuel" the receipt wont match even though the date, amount, and vendor are correct. This process is faster than using the receipt manager as the receipt manager still requires you to load the vendor center and then manually hunt down the transaction because the receipt requires to many identification points to match a transaction. As it stood we scan all receipts to an email account that so they can be harvested and placed in QuickBooks. The receipt manager is really worthless as a tool.
